Event description
Make EDI tangible in the day-to-day marketing of your company, with Brookes Enterprise Support's Comms Coordinator, Nicola Barretto.

About this event

This month’s speaker is Nicola Barretto, the Communications Coordinator at Brookes Enterprise Support. Nicola lives in Headington (though she originally hails from Kenya), is a massive foodie, and is pretty sure she's Manchester United's biggest fan.

She’ll be taking the vital but all-too-often vague topic of EDI (Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion) and giving us tangible examples of how to make it a reality in our day-to-day work. Based on her own - and her team's - experiences, she'll be sharing practical ways we can make everything we do in marketing more inclusive and accessible. We'll also leave a slightly longer chunk of time for Q&A than usual, so we can share ideas across the group.

How our gatherings tend to go

6pm: Doors open for (free) drinks, marketing chit-chat, and - let's face it - probably at least some small talk about the weather

6.30-7.15pm: A brilliant marketing talk from a knowledgeable and interesting human

7.15-7.30pm: It’s GUS time (that’s Genuinely Useful Shit)

7.30-8pm: More (still free) drinks and fun chat (hopefully about more interesting stuff than the weather by this point)

Hosted by local brand voice crafter Bethany Joy, in partnership with wonderfully-lovely HR and talent specialists Pink Giraffe and the fantastic Oxford College of Marketing.

*Tickets are free (the best flavour) but it's still super helpful if you book one, so we've got a rough idea of who's coming on the night. Hope to see you there :)

Organiser Marketing Camp

Organiser of Making your marketing more inclusive

We're an Oxford-based community of marketing people who like to chat and share ideas, gripes, and experiences over a beer (or a cocktail in a can if we're feeling fancy).

Our monthly meet-ups are chock-full of practical content that will make your job feel less overwhelming and help your marketing efforts actually pay off (plus they're blissfully free of wanky business jargon and earnest networkyness. Bonus.)
