500 miles' Olivia Giles to Speak at Holyrood's Malawi Cross-Party Group

500 miles supports the development and delivery of Prosthetic and Orthotic services in Malawi. They help people with impaired mobility of all kinds to get moving, as well and as independently as possible, by helping them to get access to and to be able to afford Prostheses and Orthoses.

Join us to hear from 500 miles' Founder and CEO, Olivia Giles as she shares a fascinating warts and all account of the past 17 years and 500 miles' transformational achievements, challenges, impact, frustrations, learning and steps towards sustainability.

All are welcome to this friendly, inclusive gathering which will be chaired by Co-Convener, Alexander Stewart.

Please meet in the lobby of the Scottish Parliament from 5.30pm.

The meeting will also include the Malawi CPG AGM.

Organized by

We exist to help coordinate, represent and support the many people-to-people and community-to-community links between Scotland and Malawi. We are an independent, politically-neutral charity core funded by successive Scottish Governments.

Scotland's links with Malawi date back to 1859 and the travels of Scottish explorer Dr David Livingstone.

Today, more than 94,000 Scots and 198,000 Malawians are actively involved in community-led partnerships between our two nations.

44.5% of Scots -almost half the country- can name a friend or family member with a connection to Malawi, making this one of the world's strongest north-south people-to-people links.
