Our Maliki fiqh course, taught by Sidi Muhammad Iqbal, continues with the section on the basics of prayer based on the foundational text, "Al Murshid Al-Mueen" by 'Ibn Ashir.
Al-Murshid al-Mu'een is a widely recognised primary text for learning Islam. In it the author, Abd al-Wahid ibn 'Ashir, summarises in verse the three sciences of Islam, Iman and Ihsan: Maliki fiqh, Ash'ari 'aqida and Junaidi tassawwuf.
Sidi Muhammad Iqbal will rely on Sidi Mayara 's commentary of Ibn Ashir's book to continue with the section which covers prayer (salaat).
Following on from the previous course which covered the obligatior aspects of prayer, this day course will cover the following areas:
-Sunnan of Solat
-Qada of Fajr and Subh
-Prostrations of forgetfulness
-Laws governing the Jumu'a (Friday Prayer)
-Prayers in congregation
-Conditions for the Imaam (leading the prayer)
-Salaat Janaza (Funeral Prayer)
-Sunnah muakada prayers
-Nafl muakada prayers
Sidi Muhammad Iqbal is a student of Sidi Hamza Al-Qadiri Al-Boutchichi (Morocco). He receivied his MA in Islamic Studies from Newham University, Birmingham (UK) in 2010. He also spent a considerable number of years studying the deen in the UK and in Morocco where he received the license to teach and transmit from traditional scholars such as Shaykh Aḥmad bin Darwịsh, Shaykh Allamah al-Musnad Aḥmad ‘Alị Sūratị, Shaykh Nidhām Ya’qūbị, Shaykh Akram Nadwị, Shaykh Muḥammad bin Yaḥya al-Ninowị, Shaykh ‘Adịl al-Sha’fị, Shaykh Khalid bin Muḥammad al-Mukhtār al-Shabā’aị al-Ḥasanị, Shaykh ‘Alị Aḥmad al-Ḥafnawị,Shaykh ‘Abdul-Raḥmān al-Kattanị , among other notable Shayukh.
