Malnutrition is the new normal - A British problem needing a global outlook

Malnutrition in all its forms affects 1 in 3 people in the world. The UK is no exception and faces a complex mix of obesity and food insecurity.

This event promotes fresh thinking on food policy to tackle malnutrition in the UK and abroad and supports inter-country learning on food and nutrition policy ideas.

Lord Cameron of Dillington will chair this lively discussion. Professor Corinna Hawkes will give the keynote speech and Professor Renato Maluf will provide insight into the experiences of Brazil. Our panel of commentators, which includes Lord Watts, Emma Lewell-Buck MP and Maggie Throup MP will offer their views on examples of policy action in the UK and Brazil which will be presented during the evening.

When arriving at Parliament, use the Cromwell Green Entrance (number 8 on this map) and allow 30 minutes to pass security and reach the Committee Rooms.

We would be delighted if you could join us.

The Food Foundation

The Food Foundation is an independent think tank that tackles the growing challenges facing the UK’s food system through the interests of the UK public.

We provide clear diagnosis of the problems caused by the food system and the role of policy and practice in addressing these.  We develop and articulate food policies to support and guide the UK public to make choices that improve their health and well-being and we inform and generate demand for new and better public and private sector policy and practice.

We are independent of all political parties and business, and we are not limited by a single issue or special interest.  We work with others who believe there is a problem with the system and want to change it.
