Malt Whisky and Food Pairing - South 16, Buxton

We are delighted to announce that we've hooked up with the team at South 16 in beautiful Buxton in the heart of the Peak District to match some wonderful single malt whiskies with a taster menu of their stunning dishes.
During the evening, independent bottler, former Caol Ila Distillery Manager, and all round whisky nut David Wood will present each course perfectly matched with a single malt whisky. David will explain why he has chosen each whisky with each course, he'll also talk you through how to nose and taste whisky, how whisky is made and give an insite into the the history of each of the whiskies.
This event is perfect for newcomers to the wonderful world of whisky or for the seasoned enthusiast. Tickets are extremely limited and can be booked via eventbrite or at South 16 (Tel: 01298 25397 / 9-11 Market Street, Buxton).

Smoked haddock and corn chowder - with Caol Ila 12 year old Islay Single Malt
Smoked chicken and ham terrine with melba toast and picalilli - with Talisker 10 year old Isle of Skye SIngle Malt
Sticky toffee pudding with toffee sauce and clotted cream - with chilled Singleton of Dufftown 12 year old Speyside Single Malt
Assorted cheeses with spiced plum chutney and ciabatta crisps - with Laphroaig 10 years old Islay Single Malt
