The Edinburgh University European Union Society is pleased to invite you to its upcoming event:

Meeting Europe’s Challenges: Malta’s Perspective

Malta has held the presidency of the Council of the European Union from January to June 2017. It has been the custom for several years that the ambassador of the country’s mission in London make a visit to Scotland during the course of the presidency. As part of this visit, High Commissioner Hamilton will speak to the European Union Society on Malta’s aims and achievements in the past six months, as well as the EU27’s perspective on Brexit.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER

Mr Norman Hamilton has been High Commissioner of Malta in London since 2013. Prior to taking up his current position, he had a career in broadcasting spanning five decades, through which he is a well-known figure in Malta. Mr Hamilton has wide-ranging experience as a television and radio presenter, producer, manager and consultant. He chaired the Malta Eurovision Song Contest and served as the country’s Head of Delegation from 1996 to 1998. He also has a substantial grounding in the tourism industry, having founded Hamilton Travel, one of the Malta’s leading tour operators, in 1992.
