Event description

Description

Great Place Wentworth and Elsecar are excited to be bringing the Man Engine, the winner of the prestigious National Lottery Awards Best Arts Project in 2017, to Yorkshire following his eagerly awaited resurrection tour of Cornwall and Wales. Man Engine is the largest mechanical puppet ever constructed in Britain and he is coming to Wentworth and Elsecar where he will be the ‘star’ of spectacular daytime and evening events.

Elsecar will host the Man Engine ‘Afterdarker’ on Saturday 23rd June. The ‘Afterdarker’ promises an edgy extravaganza; an explosive experience including white-hot pyrotechnics - sparks and steam will fly! The Man Engine ‘ceremony’ will be a 45 minute performance involving lights, pyrotechnics, fireworks and steam. The ceremony will start at 10.30pm

There will be evening entertainment prior to the ceremony, including live music performances by local bands and other acts, as well as late night shopping and food and drink offers.
