GTS are hosting  an Employer Network meet up with Secondary School careers leads and employers to discuss work experience

We are delighted to invite you to our in-person Great Torrington School Employer network meeting at Great Torrington Town Hall on Tuesday 27th September 2022, 9.00am.About the Event:The theme is &#x27;Managing a successful work experience placement&#x27;.We want our young people to build their employability skills and be ready for the workplace.  Work experience is key to bridging the gap between education and the world of work.  It helps a young person to see jobs that they have never thought about and aids them to make informed decisions about career choices, further and higher education pathways.This event is open to all employers who have or are considering in hosting a work experience student or an organisation who might consider working with us in the future.Our keynote speakers will be CSW (Careers South West) Karen Crosby, who will be sharing about the benefits of work experience to employers and the potential opportunities to help develop their future workforce. Tim Wood will talk about the health and safety aspects of what a Year 10 work experience student can do. We will also have a panel of local employers who will share their experiences and what worked well for them. There will be a chance for Q&amp;A session with all speakers. We will have refreshments upon arrival and time to network with other employers and school colleagues.
