Newcastle Science City, in partnership with NECC and Age Inclusive Ltd, would like to invite you to an event which will look at the question: “What are the emerging issues for business as the workforce ages?” An ageing workforce brings with it new challenges, opportunities and risks. However, when properly planned and managed, your ageing workforce can make a significant contribution to your business success.
There are now over 1 million people over 65 in the workforce in the UK. The abolition of the default retirement age in 2011 and the erosion of pension values mean more of your workforce will need a longer and more flexible working life as they get older. In addition businesses are starting to experience four different generations working together with a greater diversity of age, lifestyle, and personal circumstances among employees than at any time in history
The keynote speaker Dr Matt Flynn is a leading expert nationally and internationally in this area of work and Cynthia Bartley Managing Director of Age Inclusive has been advising businesses on workplace health and wellbeing and ageing workforce issues for the past seven years.
By the end of the event you should be equipped to identify the most important issues for your business and how to address them.
