About this event

This session is aimed at Parents and Carers and their children.

Standing in the Gap is a UK based Early Intervention mental health charity (www.standinginthegap.uk) working with preschool and primary aged children. We help children and parents to manage the big emotions of fear, anxiety and anger and grief.

Our mission is to build emotional well being in children by providing tools and support to children, families and professionals.

The workshop is written by mental health professionals and is evidence based and in line with the National Institute of Clinical excellence guidelines for Managing Anxiety in children.

Since we started running this workshop over 600 parents and children have attended.

When we asked for feedback they told us:

100% of parents would recommend it to another parent.

When we asked:

Do you feel more confident in managing your child’s anxiety after the workshop?

100% of parents said yes.

Do you feel more confident about knowing when your child would need more help with their anxiety?

96% of parents said Yes

Feedback included:

“We got lots of simple ways to help manage our child's anxiety now and I think it would really benefit others.”

“The workshop gave clear guidelines and an excellent presentation”

“It not only explains to children, but also to the parents how to cope and help”

“It gives you tools to help as well as the background information to help them identify their own symptoms”

The session is supported by a really useful resource pack, available to buy online at https://www.standinginthegap.uk/shop. If you would like international posting or multiple resource packs please contact us on sales@standinginthegap.uk for a personalised quote.

If your child is anxious and its having an impact on the way you and they 'do life' please come along. Anxiety is on the rise and often as parents we don't know how to help our kids.

How to book

This workshop is suitable for adults and children.

There is a nominal fee of £5 per family for our workshop tickets. Please purchase one family ticket to log on, irrespective of how many are present.

If paying for a ticket is something that your finances won't stretch to, but the information would be really helpful to you and your family; we do have a number of free places for each workshop. Please email us at info@sitgap.org stating which workshop and date you would like to be considered for

If you are in the fortunate position where you are able, you can pay this forward and purchase additional family tickets which can then be used to offer free places to more vulnerable families. Please follow the link here to donate places for families who would benefit from this. https://cafdonate.cafonline.org/23211

A couple of days before the session we will send you an email with a link to join the online session. Please come on line up to 10 mins before the start of the session to allow us to check sound etc. All sessions are on zoom at 7pm UK time.

To prevent disruption access will not be allowed once the workshop is underway, please do not be late.
