About this event

This session is aimed at Parents and Carers and their children.

Standing in the Gap is a UK based Early Intervention mental health charity ( ) working with preschool and primary aged children. We help children and parents to manage the big emotions of fear, anxiety and anger and grief.

Our mission is to build emotional well being in children by providing tools and support to children, families and professionals.

For 2022 we have a new and updated Managing Anxiety workshop.

Last year over 300 parents and children attended our Managing Anxiety workshops. They told us:

"It gave me lots of great ideas to manage my child's anxiety"

"It explained things very well"

"It contained really practical ideas to support children with anxiety"

74% of parents rated it as excellent, 25% as good.

99% of parents would recommend it to another parent.

Building on this we wanted to improve and have rearranged the format: Now the first 20 mins is aimed at the children with the parents listening in. After that if the children want to go and do other things they can and Sam will continue to unpack the subject with the parents.

The talk is free, as we want evidence based child mental health advice to be available to all parents. However there is a cost to us running this session, if you are financially able we do ask that you make a donation!/DonationDetails

The session is supported by a really useful resource pack available to buy online at If you would like international posting or multiple resource packs please contact us on for a personalised quote.

If your child is anxious and its having an impact on the way you and they 'do life' please come along. Anxiety is on the rise and often as parents we don't know how to help our kids.

This workshop is suitable for adults and children. When you book tickets, please book 1 slot for each family grouping (no matter how many people) that is attending.

A couple of days before the session we will send you an email with a link to join the online session. Please come on line up to 10 mins before the start of the session to allow us to check sound etc. All sessions are on zoom at 6.30pm UK time.

To prevent disruption access will not be allowed once the workshop is underway, please do not be late.
