About this event

Join this Ruils online workshop on managing anxiety, with Dr Maile O'Hara, a clinical psychologist at the Orchard Clinic in Twickenham.

In this workshop (conducted via Zoom) Dr O'Hara will provide strategies to get you and your children through the summer holiday, including managing tech time, tools to get stress out of the body, outdoor rituals, breathing techniques and being present.

She will also discuss ideas to prepare your children for going back to school in September, including a summer learning plan, exposure to school related stimuli, transitional objects and communicating with schools

Dr. O’Hara worked for ten years as a New York City high school history teacher and has since continued to seek out opportunities to work with young people and their families. Additionally, as a faculty psychologist she worked with children and families as the Psychology Externship Director at Montefiore Medical Center Child Annex. She has been treating both children and adults in private practice for the last 10 years.

The Ruils Family Matters service offers 1:1 support for parents and carers of children with extra needs. We can work with you to focus on areas of family life that are causing concern and identify steps to address them. We can provide information, support and advocacy services. If we can’t find an answer, we will find someone who can.
