Event description

Description

Age Action Alliance and Flourishing Lives invite you to our free workshop providing practical support for services for older people.

This workshop will focus on managing behaviours that challenge in arts and health settings, as we seek to establish a blueprint for inclusive practice across the sector.

This is a complex and nuanced issue so the workshop will be an open discussion, reflecting the wide variety of experiences and perspectives from across the arts and health sectors.

The aim of the session will be to co-develop a practical set of policies, protocols and procedures around behaviours that challenge, taking a holistic approach as we explore the issue from the inter-related perspectives of:

  • The organisation and/or group facilitator

  • The individual whose behaviour is challenging and/or being challenged by the setting

  • The group and/or organisation as a whole

The workshop will be facilitated by Lucien-Paul Stanfield (CEO, Claremont Project and Chair of Flourishing Lives & the AAA Creative Arts Group) and Stuart Cox (Arts & Wellbeing Project Manager, St Margaret's House).

To help us prepare for the session, please email david@flourishinglives.org with a short, one-line example of challenging behaviour that you have experienced in your own work setting. We will then select a number of these scenarios as case studies for discussion during the workshop.

Join us to share ideas, refine your working practices, and meet other progressive people who are striving to innovate and excel in services for older people.
