Managing Behaviours that Challenge: Part 1
Event Information
About this Event
The “Managing behaviours that challenge” workshop has been designed for parents/carers of children and young people with additional needs.
Part 1 of the workshop focuses on understanding behaviour, why behaviours that challenge happen and how they are maintained over time. In this part of the workshop, ABC charts will be introduced as a way of recording and keeping track of triggers and functions of your child’s specific behaviour.
Part 2 of the workshop allows parents/carers to share and learn our suggested strategies to support your child with behaviours that challenge depending on the perceived function of the behaviour. We will share contacts for useful organisations/agencies/professionals for further support.
The online workshop will be led by friendly mental health clinicians at Newham CAMHS who look forward to meeting you and answering any questions you may have.
