About this event

Welcome to the Managing Carer Stress event at St Andrews Community Hospital.

Caring for someone living with dementia can be deeply rewarding, but it also comes with emotional and physical challenges. Many carers experience stress, loneliness, and exhaustion, often putting their own needs last. This session focuses on your wellbeing, providing practical strategies to help you stay strong, connected, and supported.

By the end of this session, carers will be able to:

  • Identify common stressors associated with caregiving roles
  • Understand the impact of caregiving stress on physical and mental health
  • Learn strategies to maintain their physical and mental wellbeing while caregiving
  • Understand what support, resources and services are available

Organised by

The Dementia Carers Education Programme has been developed through a partnership project of NHS Fife, Fife Health and Social Care Partnership, Alzheimer Scotland, Fife Carers Centre and STAND. The programme is open to all unpaid carers who care for someone living with dementia. All sessions are optional, and you are welcome to attend more than once as your needs as a carer change. The aim of the programme is educational, to support you to gain practical knowledge and skills, learning from skilled health and social care professionals, as well as connecting with other carers.
