Event description

Description

Join the student-led SEAHA (Science and Engineering in Arts, Heritage and Archaeology) Landscape Heritage Study Group and the Oxford University Heritage Network for an evening highlighting cutting-edge research and insight into the value and management of heritage at the landscape scale.

We are delighted to be hosting Dr Tom Tew to give a keynote talk on 'Managing Heritage Landscapes: Past, Present and Future'. After his PhD at Oxford’s Zoology Department, nature conservationist Dr Tom Tew spent over 20 years in the public sector, leading teams and programmes at local, regional, national and international levels. He was a regional and national director at English Nature, and Chief Scientist at Natural England. Tom is currently Chief Executive of two companies that work with planning authorities, landowners and developers to help the planning system deliver net gains for wildlife. He was the Chairman of The Vincent Wildlife Trust and is currently a Trustee and main Board member of both the National Lottery Heritage Fund and The National Trust.

There will be a drinks reception hosted by St Cross College after the talk.
