Managing Infections After Renal Transplantation
Event Information
About this event
Join us for a symposium with consultant nephrologist, Dr Mark Harber, of the Royal Free Hospital who will be giving us an overview of infections commonly occurring in renal transplant recipients and how they can be prevented and managed.
Dr Harber will be explaining which infections are related to immunosuppression and how this can be managed. Additionally, risk presented by CMV infection will be explored and how this can be managed through patient and donor work-up, and the options for prophylaxis and management of active infection. Finally, Dr Harber will talk us through the management of patients with HIV, Hepatitis C, and TB (including reactivation) and the infections that are related to urological issues and UTIs.
The symposium will be chaired by Professor Andrew Ready, TLC's lead surgeon, who will also field questions to Dr Harber and host a discussion on the topics covered.
This symposium is scheduled to last 1 hour, plus time for questions and answers.
CPD accreditation pending.
The symposium has been sponsored by Astellas, who have had no input to the scientific content.
