 This engaging full-day workshop is designed to support managers to lead and enable greater mental wellbeing in their team. As well as building awareness and understanding of what mental wellbeing is, it will help managers to recognise the early warning signs of common mental health conditions and consider how they can respond professionally and supportively.

 

The session will provide delegates with a range of practical tools and techniques to create a supportive climate, role model best practice and to confidently lead positive conversations about mental health.

This course is meant for any member of staff that leads and manages others.

What’s Involved?

Course Content

  • Mental wellbeing – definition and understanding. Raising awareness of the different stages and symptoms of mental health and the opportunity to support individuals with mental health conditions to thrive at work.
  • Pressure/performance – the relationship between stress, mental wellbeing and performance
  • Common mental health conditions – stress, anxiety, depression, burnout – signs, symptoms and triggers
  • Wellbeing conversations – best practice behaviours, professional boundaries
  • Managing emotions – introduction to the mood map
  • Compassionate leadership – why are professional boundaries important in work?
  • Creating a climate of wellbeing – tools and techniques to support wellbeing, theoretical introduction to the Five Foundation Stones
  • Case Studies – explore and reflect on best practice approaches to team wellbeing
  • Accountability – as a manager and leader, where do you sit on the ladder? What do you need to enable you to move up this ladder?
