Event description
Management workshop to help engage your team, motivate them and improve communication and collaboration while working remotely or in hybrid.

About this Event

It has become clear that the way we work is likely to be changed forever. Before 2020 remote work was already on the rise, and the pandemic forced this predicted trend to rapidly accelerate.

A recent survey of executives indicated that 38% expect employees will work two or more days per week away from the office, even after the pandemic. Many expect a hybrid model to become the new standard and preparation for this is key to keep your business thriving and your Employer Brand attractive.

Session Purpose

This workshop will enable you to engage with your team and develop a plan for improving their success, whether working from home, on the road, or hybrid. In remote environments a challenge can be ensuring performance standards and delivery, while maintaining engagement and a feeling of ‘connection’ to the organisation and team. Leaders need to develop new ways of working, that replicate the informal and micro interactions that characterise our social environments in work, maintain our relationships and support our ongoing learning and collaboration. We will focus on how to tailor your leadership approach and consider ways of working for the new, more flexible future.

Session Content

  • Busting the myths – the research on performance, engagement, and wellbeing of remote workers
  • The challenges of remote teams and how these have been met across different sectors
  • Understanding barriers to performance and capitalising on the opportunities
  • Developing an individual and flexible leadership approach based on trust
  • Developing and managing through clear expectations with remote colleagues and getting the level of communication right
  • Balancing your communication and engagement with colleagues working from home and others in the office
  • Ensuring equity across for all colleagues across different working patterns

Who should attend?

This session is ideal for anyone who manages a team and wants time to reflect on their approach, hear research on how others are making remote and hybrid formats work and isolate key actions or skills that could improve engagement with your team, while building your own leadership resilience.
