Event description
This half-day course aims to give you the confidence to manage performance from an early stage and be confident with formal procedures.

About this event

Poor performance can be something that some managers would rather not deal with, or hope that the situation goes away of its own accord. By the time it becomes critical to do something your patience is exhausted and you just can’t face the length of time it takes to manage the process.

This course explores the various reasons that poor performance can arise, the impact it can have on you, your team and the business, and how to approach this with the team member ahead of any formal process.

This course aims to give you the confidence to manage performance from an early stage but be confident with a more formal procedure should it be necessary.

Subject areas covered include:

  • Why is managing performance so important?
  • The Performance Management process
  • Setting Objectives
  • Roles and Responsibilities
  • What does good performance look like?
  • The Formal Performance Meeting
  • Dealing with difficult cases.
