MANAGING & RISK ASSESSING OCCUPATIONAL ILL HEALTH
Fri 26 May 2017, 09:00 – 16:00 BST
Occupational ill-health presents a much higher risk to individuals today than ‘accidents’ in the workplace, yet, it receives comparatively little coverage. Here we shall look at relevant statutory provisions in COSHH, RIDDOR and other regulations, as well as examining the health implications and good options for combatting occupational ill-health in a variety of contexts, particularly looking at noise, lead, vibration, asbestos, dermatitis, rabies, drug and alcohol abuse, allergies, temperature-related ill health, radiation, stress, infections and HIV, and hazards/conditions affecting the respiratory system. We will also look at assessment of risk, sources of information and means of safeguarding.
