There are now around 3.8 million women over 50 in work, and the vast majority of these will go through the menopause. The menopause is a stage of life that is as natural for women as pregnancy, and yet it remains a taboo subject in most workplaces.

The research shows that, while some menopausal women receive help and understanding from colleagues and managers, over half don't disclose their symptoms to management. The result is that many women suffer in silence while often a few small adjustments at work could make a world of difference to them.  This session will explore these issues including:

• Menopause at work research: the compelling reasons why organisations need to take it seriously.
• Employment law and menopause: what we’ve learnt from employee relations issues and tribunals, and how existing law supports menopausal women.
• What this all means for HR, OH, D&I professionals: how being menopause-friendly can help with attraction, retention, motivation and performance, and organisational culture.
• Best practice and sharing ideas through case studies: food-for-thought ideas to develop their own approach.
