Tuesday 28th November 2017

Writtle University College Equine Society Students are presenting a lecture evening with the theme of Managing the Performance Horse.

This will include 4 talks on various topics by Writtle lecturers and by guest speaker House and Jackson Vet Luisa Smith.


Topics to include:

How to recognise when your horse needs help

Indicators of wrong muscle development in relation to training

What can you do to support the performance horse?

Developing top line in the ridden horse, ground work and its importance for postural training and core strength

The rider's influence

Contribution of the rider to the horses way of going, troubleshooting exercises

There will be an 'ask the panel' session at the end of the talks for any questions or queries to be answered



Starts at 7pm - Doors open from 6.45pm

Refreshments will be available


Open to staff, students and the public

Equine Society members: FREE

WUC Students: £2

Public: £5

Payment will be taken on the door

All staff and students will require to present their ID cards


All proceeds will go to the charity Barrow Farm, Riding for the Disabled
