Managing today’s and tomorrow’s workforce

The world of work as we know it is changing rapidly, as HR professionals, how can you keep ahead of the game and ensure that you have a workforce fit for the future? Our guest speakers Alan Price and Paul Holcroft from the Croner Group will assess the major developments impacting employment law this year including Brexit, the gig economy, zero hours contracts and recent major case law developments, including decisions on minimum wage and pay, reasonable adjustments. They then will take a look to the future focusing on where legislation and government policy take us in 2017, including gender pay reporting, the apprenticeship levy and changes to skilled migrant rules. This event will be broken down into 2 parts:
Session 1: How is Brexit, the Gig Economy and case law affecting today’s workforce?
Session 2: Tomorrow’s workforce – where will legislation and government policy take us in 2017?
Alan Price is the Chief Executive Officer at Croner Group Limited. Alan has practical knowledge and experience of employee relations and trade union matters, having sat as an Employment Tribunal Lay Member since 2002. A Chartered Fellow of the CIPD, he has held a number of non-executive roles in the SME sector as well as being a Non Exec of the Chamber of Commerce in Ireland for four years. He was elected to the board of the CIPD in 2014 as a Director and Trustee. Alan is regularly featured by the BBC, C4 and print media as a HR and employment law expert.
Paul Holcroft is Company Lawyer and Head of Operations at Croner Group Limited. Paul holds an LLB (Hons) and a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice. During his career Paul has worked as a Tribunal Advocate and HR Consultant, representing a wide range of clients across the UK, saving businesses tens of thousands of pounds into the process. Paul is also an expert speaker, presenting at numerous seminars on the subject of legal and HR issues and developments.
What time do I need to arrive at the event?
Please arrive at 18:00 for registration, when tea/coffee and sandwiches will be served. The session will then run from 18:30 to 20:00

Car parking is available at the Croner Offices
What is the refund policy?
The event is free for CIPD members to attend. Non-member places may be cancelled up to 1 week before the event, after that the £12 fee is non-refundable.
