Insects and invertebrates in general are experiencing catastrophic declines which threaten all parts of the food web including humans. For 27 years New Ferry Butterfly Park, a former railway goods yard in the urban area of Wirral, has been managed for invertebrates and as an educational site.

Follow up the webinar (book here) with a site visit to New Ferry Butterfly Park to see the results of their management, and discuss alternatives and problems. This guided visit will take place in the morning. Hot drinks and toilet are available - bring your own lunch or use nearby facilities. People are welcome to stay for the afternoon to do some biological recording, or visit the attractions in Port Sunlight, 10 minutes walk away.

Access: New Ferry Butterfly Park is next to Bebington Merseyrail station. Various buses stop on adjacent roads. Some car parking available within the site (up to 10 cars) and other free parking within 5 minutes walk.
