Managing Vicarious Trauma

A half day of training aimed at local practioners who work with victims of domestic abuse. Vicarious trauma, also called Second Hand Trauma or Compassion Fatigue, is the trauma experienced by workers through the repeated supporting of traumatised victims. The course to aims to support the wellbeing of staff.
The Learning outcomes are:
To identify what vicarious trauma is
- To increase your understanding of how to self-care and seek support
- To increase your understanding around the implications of practice when vicarious trauma, burnout, or compassion fatigue is an issue
