Event description
Microsoft Excel essentials to get you effectively and efficiently managing your data.

About this Event

It's easy to pick up and start using Excel for small data collection jobs, only to find they grow into enormous groaning spreadsheets full of inconsistencies and time consuming work arounds.

Come and join us in this session to find out how to get your spreadsheet on track and doing what it's meant to be doing - saving you time, facilitating effective service delivery and enabling you and your team to get insight into the bigger picture.

Excel is a brilliant tool for gathering, managing and analysing data but most of us only every use a tiny percentage of all the tools on offer in Excel. This session is designed to help you get to grips with what's on offer and learn some of the skills you need to effectively manage your organisation's data in Excel.

This is an interactive course with exercises for you to practice your new skills as you learn them.

Is this training for me?

This free course is for anyone working in a voluntary or community organisation whose work uses Excel to inform or facilitate service delivery.

It is a pre-intermediate course so really aimed at people who have a basic understanding of working with Excel but want to take it to the next level.

In the training we'll look at:

  • Understanding the Excel ribbon & what's available
  • Working with Excel sheets (adding, moving, renaming, colour coding & framing)
  • Adding & formatting tables
  • Sorting & filtering data
  • Adding slicers (visual filters)
  • Calculated columns and totals
  • Printing
