Event description

Description

After a cracking first event for this season, Manchester Ceilidh is returning to Manchester Bierkeller to do it all over again! This time we're welcoming our good friends Queerly Belovéd Ceilidh to take the stage, matching traditional ceilidh dances with some not-so-traditional tunes from the 80s!

What is a ceilidh, I hear you say? A ceilidh, from the gaelic word ceílí (pronounced Kay-Lee, from irish and scottish gaelic, which essentially means a party and a good time), is a social dance where dancing to folk music and having a great time is the order of the day. Originally from celtic dance cultures, modern ceilidhs reinvigorate this long tradition, incorporating dances and music from all over the world. All you need is a band (we’ve got you covered there), a caller to teach dances (we have that too!), and some people to dance. You don’t even need a partner, we guarantee that you will end up dancing with everyone in the room by the end of the night! Even people with two left feet can dance ceilidhs!

Pull your leg-warmers on, grab your neon headbands, and moonwalk over to Manchester Bierkeller on Wednesday 29th March for a night of wild ceilidh dancing!

Invite your friends, 'like' our page and spread the word and help us have a massive party in our new venue!
