Costas Simitis was Prime Minister of Greece in 1996-2004. He was instrumental in preparing Greece for membership of the Eurozone in 2001 and has since remained a staunch pro-EU figure in Greek politics. This special lecture coincides with the publication of his book The European Debt Crisis: the Case of Greece to be published by Manchester University Press in May 2014.
