About this event

Music • Indie

A fabulous and entertaining walk through the city's music from the sixties to the present day. None of Manchester’s famous bands and acts will be missed, there’ll be surprises and pointers to new bands too. The guides have met, interviewed or been at the gigs of many of the artists mentioned so the anecdotes come from personal experience as well as research.

Expect stories about The Smiths, The Buzzcocks, The Fall, Take That, The Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, Oasis, New Order, Joy Division, 10cc, The Hollies, James, The Fall, Elbow, John Cooper Clarke and even the Bee Gees connection with the city with be underlined along with the story of a notorious gig by Bob Dylan.

We'll play intros and samples of music too for people to guess the artist and help liven things up. Dancing will be allowed.

What we guarantee above all is a throughly interesting and entertaining tour of this fantastic musical city.
