LGBT Foundation's Pride in Ageing programme is bringing different generations of LGBTQ+ readers together every 6 weeks to discuss great LGBTQ+ reads. The group began in 2024 by reading Armistead Maupin's much-loved series 'Tales of the City' - yes all 10 books!
At future meetings we will be discussing books by older LGBTQ+ authors, books which feature story-lines about older LGBTQ+ characters (as well as younger ones!) and writers who use humour in their exploration of LGBTQ+ issues. If this sounds of interest to you please do join us!
This event is open to anyone aged 18+, and the book club meets in person at LGBT Foundation's Community Hub at Fairbairn House. To be part of this session, please book a ticket via the eventbrite page here and read the book before the event.
If you would like our reading list for upcoming sessions please email prideinageing@lgbt.foundation. We try to choose books that are available widely from libraries and to buy - and those that are available too online as an e-book or audio-book. Sometimes we may be able to offer the books as a loan in the weeks leading up to the meetings. If you are having issues getting hold of a book please let us know.
