Michael Morpurgo talks about children’s literature
Writer and broadcaster Nicolette Jones talks to bestselling children’s author Michael Morpurgo, who has written over 130 books including War Horse, Private Peaceful and Kensuke’s Kingdom. They reflect on whether children should be exposed to suffering (Morpurgo has written about the Holocaust and Nagasaki); why it is important to pass on history to children; the magic of stage adaptations; and how children can be encouraged to read and write.
