We blinking love Autumn, mostly because you can eat more custard and gravy, and because Claire's birthday is in Autumn, we can drink more too! With this in mind you've got a menu that is as Autumnal and nostalgic as a woolly jumper used as a goalpost on the 'Rec' on a crisp autumn morning with fallen leaves crunching under your feet and blowing in the sharp Autumn breeze. In the eighties. (Its a baggy jumper.) Not gone too autobiographical with the nostalgia as you'd end up with a bottle of Diamond White as an aperitif..
As usual all our produce is sourced from Manchester's wholesale fruit, vegetable, fish and meat provider, New Smithfield Market. We are used to serving the workers and buyers of Smithfield at 2am.. now we're opening our doors to the rest of the universe! Everything is made from scratch, on site, using the finest produce New Smithfield Market has to offer. Not necessarily local, not necessarily in season, but just blinking tasty.
Here is the Autumn menu. There are three dates in total.. we hope you can make one of them!
Warm Chocolate Malt Martini with a toasted marshmallow float.
Berni Inn Canapé Combo:
Deep-fried breaded Roasted Garlic and Chestnut Mushrooms with Thyme mayonnaise.
Prawn Cocktail with brown bread and lemon.
Pumpkin soup with Salami, Ricotta and Sage Tortellini.
Home-smoked Sea Trout with roasted Beetroot, Sorrel, Horseradish and Cobb Nuts.
Venison, Fig and Rosemary Pithiver (okay its a pie..) with charred Radicchio, Romanesco cauliflower and a game gravy.
Sticky Toffee Plum Pudding, Apple Beignet, Blackberries and Custard.
Boom! Its £30 per person, with a £10 deposit to reserve your seat. Its still BYOB, so you'll need to bring your favourite tipple to self-spike your welcome hot chocolate and of course the lorry-load of wine you'll want to consume during the course of the evening.
