Manchester is home to 6 of the 14 UK's leading digital unicorns (Evolution, 2022). Join us as we uncover 'Manchester: The New Tech Hub' with a panel of market-leading experts. This is our first in-person Manchester-based event that is taking place this May, in collaboration with our friends from Coding Black Females.

Suzie Kim Jihyon

Suzie is a senior creative digital designer and a team leader with over 13 years of experience. She is currently working for AO retail, developing digital campaigns and branding. Previous to AO, she worked in the personal care & beauty industry for 8 years, at global brands including Esteè Lauder Company and Unilever. She moved to Manchester in 2019 after living in London for many years and recently became a mum.

After having a daughter, Suzie became interested in mentoring younger females in the creative industry and has been helping as many as possible through general career advice and specific feedback on their portfolios. Suzie has a Master of Image and Communication and a Bachelor of Communication Design and Sociology.

Toye Akinoso

Toye is a Fullstack developer at Tracsis, a leading provider of software services for the planning and management of mass transit systems. Toye also serves as the Techincal Lead at Black Valley, a tech start-up which aims to create an ecosystem which champions black talent in tech and incubates black-led UK start-ups. Toye is experienced and passionate about improving access to tech industries to the Black community and using technology to collaborate to solve challenging problems. He is interested in all things blockchain technology, data transformation, mobile & web development and the internet of things (IoT).

Hera Saqib

Hera is the Co-founder and CEO of Classimize, an educational SaaS Learning Management System that focuses on providing data driven career guidance to students in order to bridge the gap between education and the economy. Beyond her passion of supporting schools with their digital transformation, she also leads the entire user experience team at a large, forward thinking travel company. Together with her positive energy, empathetic nature and attention to problem solving, she’s able to coach her team in effective and proactive ways.”
