Meet ‘The Past People of Exeter’

This talk will introduce the audience to the inhabitants of Exeter during the middle ages. It will show how combining the osteological analysis of a large skeletal collection with historical and archaeological data we can explore the health and socio-economic status of those that lived, worked and died in Exeter. It will look at the different burial places and types of burial and some of the diseases and health conditions observed whilst analysing the bones of Exeter’s medieval population.
