Description

The Yorkshire 3 Peaks trek is a challenging 24 miles and 5,000ft of ascent to be tackled by competent walkers aiming to complete the challenge within 12 hours.

Set against the stunning backdrop of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales National Park, the walk ascends the three peaks of Ingleborough, Whernside and Pen-y-ghent. There will be qualified Mountain Leaders throughout the route to assist you with any help you may need.

Entry options

You can enter as an individual or as a team. Entry costs £75 per person, but we are offering discounted entry of £25 per person on the condition that you fundraise £250 for Sue Ryder Manorlands Hospice.

This discounted entry also applies to teams of up to five – entry is £75 per team member, or £25 with a fundraising target of £150 plus £100 per team member.

Itinerary

Breakfast will be available from 6am and there will be three refreshment stops along the route in addition to the finish.

Event day registration and safety briefing will take place between 6am and 6.50am and the event will start at 7am.

All competitors will receive a technical t-shirt to wear during the walk as well as a completion certificate at the finish line.

FAQs

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?

Yes – participants must be aged 14 years or older. Anyone under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

Is my registration fee transferable?

No, your entry is non-transferable. Please do not swap or pass on your event number.

How long will the walk take me to complete?

We ask that you aim to complete the walk within 12 hours. You will not be allowed to ascend Ingleborough if you arrive at the third checkpoint (Chapel-le-Dale) after 3.30pm.


What do I do if I cannot finish the event?

We ask that participants make sure they are fit and healthy enough to complete the event before starting. However, if you do need to drop out after crossing the start line, please report to one of the officials to avoid any unnecessary search and hand in your event number. We can assist with transport back to the start.


Can I run instead?

No, this event is assessed for health and safety as a walk. Therefore, we ask that participants do not run the route.


Can I bring my dog?

Yes, dogs are permitted to accompany walkers but owners are responsible for them at all times. Please keep dogs on leads around livestock, and bring food and water to keep them fuelled.
