About this event

Join us for an introductory dive into nine Sanskrit mantras over the course of a year.

Today we will be exploring the Lakṣmī Gāyatrī. As goddess of good fortune, beauty and wealth, we may look to her mantra for support in overcoming any blocks we may have against creating abundance of all sorts in our own lives.

MANTRA MELA

These workshops are for you if you are new to mantra, or if you already love chanting mantra, but would like to refine and deepen your practice.

Each session, we will chant the mantra together in the simple and accessible Vedic style. Depending on the mantra, we may also chant them devotionally, as Kirtan.

We will also explore:

  • The meaning and application of the mantra
  • The Sanskrit pronunciation and its physical and subtle effects
  • Understanding and reading Sanskrit transliteration
  • How to establish and navigate a mantra japa practice
  • Further aspects of mantra yoga for health and personal development

The sessions are standalone so come to as many or as few as you like.

MANTRA YOGA

The workshops are spaced just over 40 days apart. This is to give you an opportunity to follow the workshop with a 40 day mantra japa practice, if you wish. However, this is in no way obligatory and you are welcome to attend the workshop simply to explore the mantra.

ALL WELCOME

These are inclusive workshops that are suitable for all all fitness levels and any race, colour, religion, gender and gender identity, sexual orientation, national origin or disability. No musical or singing ability is required. It is not necessary to practice yoga to attend.

All that is required is a willingness to explore the potential of transformation through mantra.
