  • Rob Johnson - Visiting Lecturer, Nottingham Trent University & Hon. Professor, University of Nottingham. Rob was from 2012 until mid-2019, Global Purchasing Director at Jaguar Land Rover. Prior to this he held senior Procurement and Quality management roles at both Rolls-Royce PLC and Toyota Europe. Rob brings the customer perspective to purchasing and supply chain priorities, and also a 'practitioners' insight into strategic leadership, high performing teams, lean thinking, quality, operations and global supply chain management. Rob has experience in managing transformation projects, including coaching smaller suppliers and growth businesses in sectors such as Automotive, Aerospace engineering and services .

    Mark Goldby - Chair of Nottinghamshire Manufacturing Network. Mark has 30 years of manufacturing & leadership experience in the High-Tech Electronics industry, initially with corporate giants GEC Plessey & Siemens and then as co-founder/owner of SMS Electronics – a successful, Nottingham based, Hi-Tech manufacturing company.

    Dr. Kapila Liyanage - Senior Lecturer in Engineering Management, University of Derby. Dr Kapila Liyanage is a senior academic with more than 18 years of teaching, research and knowledge transfer experience. His current research interests include sustainable operations and supply chain management, systems modelling & simulation, circular economy and Industry 4.0. His research provided several contributions and opened new avenues to the field of sustainable manufacturing and supply chain management through the development of new sustainability theories, concepts, frameworks, and models. He has also provided several consultancies to SMEs in the UK and Sri Lanka.

    Karen Hodgson - General Manager, Canal Engineering Training Academy. Karen has over 30 years in training and development working in FE Colleges, commercial businesses and private training providers at a senior level. Karen started her training career with British Midland Airways before working in FE Colleges as a Tutor, Curriculum Manager and Director of Workforce Development, after a period of secondment Karen transferred to Yorkshire Forward to lead the training development at Doncaster Sheffield Airport. Other roles have included working in a specialist college for adults with disabilities and working as CEO for a training provider network. Karen moved to Canal Engineering in 2016 to develop and expand the training offer.
