Event description

Description

On Saturday, 28th September 2019, The Children’s Centre, along with Douglas Town Centre Management and Barclays, are calling upon the faeries of the Isle of Man to help attempt to break a Guinness World Record! While we may be Manx faeries, we're trying to break the record for the ‘Largest Gathering of Fairies’, which currently stands at 878 people. We would like to encourage as many people of all ages to break out their inner faerie and help us smash the record.

In order to qualify as a faerie for the world record, participants MUST wear WINGS, a TUTU, & carry a WAND. Please note that all parents, guardians etc. must also be wearing these in order to be allowed entrance into the record counting area.

The faerie parade will start at The Villiers Square, taking you through to the Villa Marina, where our Counting Faeries will work their magic!

The Children’s Centre are encouraging participants to try and make their own Faerie costumes out of recycled, reused or repurposed materials as much as possible. We don't want this event to break the planet (or the bank!) and would like to keep the environmental impact of our record attempt to an absolute minimum. Workshops are being held across the Island for people to drop in and get creative with their costumes. Find us on social media for more information about this.

This event is free to attend, with any donations greatly appreciated. All donations will go to The Children’s Centre.

Don't forget to use our hashtag! #FaeriesWorldRecord
