This course is for beginners, or people who have relied on others to navigate them around the hills! Topics covered include:

- Basic map reading (symbols, grid references, scale etc)

- Using paces to measure distance on the ground

- Basic navigation using a map and compass

The course is classroom-based, with some outdoor exercises which will require warm, waterproof clothing and sturdy boots. Tea and coffee provided; please bring a packed lunch.

The course is limited to eight participants. Maps and compasses will be provided, but please feel free to bring along your own.
