09.30-12.30 - Get to know maps: a session for library staff

A training session for library staff who already catalogue book, map, or manuscript collections but would like further specialist guidance on dealing with cartographic materials. Topics covered will include calculating map scales, geographical areas and subject headings, and physical description for sheet maps and atlases, including antiquarian materials.

14.00-17.00 - Map Curators’ Group Workshop 2025

The annual MCG Workshop is open to all and will include talks on recent research projects, diversifying and decolonising map collections, and a display of maps from the Bodleian’s collections.

Cost: £20 for one session, or £30 for the whole day (including refreshments but not lunch).
