About this event

Come along to this free, drop-in event marking South Asian Heritage Month, run by the MAHSA (Mapping Archaeology and Heritage in South Asia) project.

MASHA document and map archaeological sites and heritage in India and Pakistan. At this interactive, family-friendly afternoon, they are highlighting these histories with:

· Map based activities for kids

· An AR sand box

· Small exhibits on maps and archaeology

Join us to discover the stories of historic maps, which were snapshots of the land in India and Pakistan before many sites were damaged, destroyed or forgotten.

As MASHA dug up these histories behind the maps, they also came across the stories and adventures of the Indian mapmakers who traversed deserts, scaled mountains and recorded sites before even the archaeologists. Come along to find out more about these map stories.
