Event description

Description

The Major Archive Projects Learning Exchange (MAPLE) supports organisations planning or managing large archive projects; primarily capital developments. Over 130 organisations are members of the group, including local authority, university, national and specialist archives.

Bookings are now open for the next MAPLE meeting on Tuesday 5th December, 2017 at The Postal Museum, London. We have a maximum number of 20 delegates for this meeting so please book early to avoid disappointment.

Postal Museum Archivist, Helen Dafter, will give attendees a guided tour of the newly opened Discovery Room and the new stores and a short presentation on how she approached the collections move that formed an essential part of this major redevelopment of the site.

Caroline Sampson, TNA’s new Development Manager: National and Networks, will give attendees an overview of TNA’s Archives Revealed grant programme, launched in November 2017, explaining how and when to apply for funding to open up collections. There will also be an open discussion to review the group’s priorities for coming meetings, including possible venues and speakers, discussion themes, etc.
