About this event

Agenda

  1. Map who is in the room and who else exists in Manchester’s local circular fashion/textile ecosystem.
  2. Reflect on how relationships and flows between actors can enable or block local circularity.
  3. Discuss what a local circular textile ecosystem should aim to achieve.
  4. Identify practical recommendations for GMCA and all stakeholders involved (to inform future tools, policy, and partnerships).

Overview

You are warmly invited to join an interactive workshop co-organized by the Orchestrate Project (Dr Tulin Dzhengiz & Dr Alaa Abed) and Future Fashion Fair (Joe Mountain & Niamh Donavan) to map and reimagine Greater Manchester’s circular fashion and textile ecosystem.

This half-day session will bring together diverse voices—NGOs, brands, upcyclers, policymakers, community groups, and engaged citizens—to explore who plays which roles, how relationships and resources flow, and what a thriving local ecosystem could look like.

Through practical activities, collective mapping, and open discussion, we will build a shared understanding of priorities and draft a collaborative manifesto to guide future action.

We look forward to your insights and energy in shaping the next steps for circular fashion in Manchester.
