Been accepted to a marathon and want some help?

Join us for a day long workshop and take part in a strength session, learn about injury prevention, training planning strategies, take part in a yoga for runners session, learn about nutrition strategies for training and your event, hear from a marathon runner who will talk about their first event, learn about kit and trainer choice, learn about the psychology behind long distance running and have the opportunity to ask those burning questions.

Receive lunch and a home info pack including strength sessions for runners, runner specific home yoga sessions, nutritional info and more.

Dr John McCarthy joins us in the delivery of nutrition, psychology and training planning strategies. John is a senior lecturer at the University of Bedfordshire with over 12 years of experience in lecturing on undergraduate and postgraduate courses, specifically in the fields of sports nutrition, sports and exercise physiology, sports science and fitness testing. He has previously worked within professional sport at West Ham United as their first team fitness coach and sports scientist as well as other international sports clubs.

Aminta Gagnon joins us in the delivery for the yoga for runners session. She is a fully qualified RYT 200hr yoga instructor. She began yoga, because of an injury. Amnita is a runner and has competed in various races such as: 10ks, half marathons and marathons. A few years ago, she injured her knee during a race and was advised to start yoga for flexibility and strength improvement. Yoga has allowed her to continue running injury free. She now uses her experience to deliver sports specific yoga sessions.

This day combines a mix of practical sessions and talks to provide information to get you ready for your marathon!

Please come prepared to take part in strength and yoga sessions. You may want to bring a spare set of clothes to change into after exercise. If you can't take part in the practical elements that's not a problem, just let us know in advance by dropping us an email.
