The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) was established in 2010 as an independent research & technology organisation with the objective of bridging the gap between academia and industry. It now has over 700 employees and has helped hundreds of businesses covering not only R&D but also training, advanced manufacturing management and factory design.

The MTC develops and proves innovative manufacturing processes and technologies, operating some of the most advanced manufacturing equipment in the world. With a range of highly skilled engineers this creates a high quality environment for the development and demonstration of new processes and technologies on an industrial scale.

Part of the High Value Manufacturing Catapult, the MTC is supported by Innovate UK and its areas of expertise are directly relevant to both large and small companies, applicable across a wide range of industry sectors.

We will hear from Nigel Knapp, Senior Business Development Manager for Manufacturing Support Services and following Nigel’s talk we will have a tour of the MTC workshop.

Before booking, please note that to comply with MTC policy, guests will need to provide their full names, nationality and company in advance. Guests will also be required to bring photographic ID such as passport or British driving licence on the day to be able to gain access to the MTC building. Failure to do so will result in not being able to take part in the tour. This information is required by MTC for their own security purposes in order to verify the identity of guests on arrival and will be shared with them for that purpose only.
