March for Men raising money for Prostate Cancer your ticket is your donation to the charity.
About this event
On May 28th 2022 (Originally May 30th 2020). We are organising a March For Men walk. 4 years ago a family member was given the all clear from his prostate cancer he was one of the lucky ones. We want to raise money and awareness for Prostate Cancer UK, who are encouraging men to get their prostate checked. Their mission is to raise money for research prevent one of the biggest killers of men.
Prostate Cancer UK is a registered charity in England and Wales (1005541) and in Scotland (SC039332).

The walk:
Walk around the guild wheel (20.6 Miles) https://www.lancashire.gov.uk/leisure-and-culture/cycling/guild-wheel/
You can walk the whole thing or simply sign up to the walk, and walk as much or as little as you want.
The walk will start and finish at Avenham Park in Preston (Please use public parking)
Sign up Cost:
Sign up to the walk and the money goes to the charity.
For the sign up cost you will receive a wristband and a t-shirt and you have donated to a great cause.
The only part of the money that doesn't go to the charity is to pay for Public Liability Insurance for the protection of all involved with the walk.
The purchase fees are from eventbrite.co.uk and are nothing to do with the organisers or the charity. £12.44 is the fee the charity receives and the remaing £1.66 is the cost for using Eventbrite
FAQs
As A March for Men is it Men only?
No Anybody can come, bring children, pets etc. If you don't want to bu tickets for each person attending, that is fine but unpaid walkers won't be covered by the insurance nor will they get a t-shirt and wristband. However each ticket is a donation as well as the insurance, t-shirt and wristband.
20.6 Miles is too far for me do I have to do it all?
No, if you want to walk less then simply walk as far as you want. Please start with us and do what you can. Please make your own arrangements for getting home from your chosen finsih point. For insurance purposes you are only insured whilst walking the planned route and not once you leave the walk.
Where are the toilets?
There are no toilets supplied by the organsiers of the event but we will be passing plenty of cafe's and pubs where you can nip to the toilet. We will be arranging some stops along the way.
Will there be photogrpahy taken?
We will be taking photographs for our event/charity page if you buy a ticket you are concenting to your photo being taken, if you don't wish for your photo to be taken please inform the person taking the photo on the day of the event.
Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
No.
What are my transport/parking options for getting to and from the event?
There is free parking on the streets by Avenham Park near Preston Hockey Club and Christ the King High School. There is also paid parking available in the town centre.
What can I bring into the event?
Bring water, snacks, lunch and some money (there are pubs and cafes around the course)

You can or just proof on a phone (Try to avoid printing if possible for the environment)

Is it ok if the name on my ticket or registration doesn't match the person who attends?
Please let us know before hand by emailing purplepenguinscharity@gmail.com and there should be no issue. T-shirt size may not be able to swapped unless plenty of time given in advance.
