Marching the Stones 2 – Stone 7 to Stone 12 (2 Mile Pavement Walk)
Event Information
Description
‘Marching the Stones’ is a project designed to encourage people to be more active whilst visiting and learning about the heritage of our city. The boundary of the land granted to Aberdeen by Robert the Bruce was originally marked by several stones and natural features, over time this became more formalised with the placing of March Stones to indicate the boundary of those lands.
People will be encouraged to visit the 67 stones marking the ancient boundary (Marches) of the city. Although the total distance around all the stones is 26 miles we have planned a series of short walks, mostly 2 – 3 miles, with suitable stopping points, that can be followed at any time.
