and performance experience. Her classical foundation was established at Isha Samskriti's
Gurukulam-based school, and she continues to refine her artistry under the guidance of
renowned guru Shri Sheejith Krishna. She has performed extensively across prestigious
venues in India and internationally, including as part of the Sahrdaya Foundation in Chennai.
Currently based in London, Rajeswari holds an MSc in Psychology of the Arts from
Goldsmiths University and works as an Arts Administrator at Akademi, promoting South
Asian dance in the UK.
For her Nehru Centre debut, Rajeswari presents a traditional 60-minute Bharatanatyam
Margam that celebrates the ancient classical dance form of Tamil Nadu. Her performance
seamlessly blends nritta (rhythmic pure dance) with abhinaya (expressive storytelling),
showcasing technical precision and emotional depth. The recital will feature classical pieces
including Jathiswaram, Varnam, Padam/Javali, Keerthanam and Thillana, each highlighting
different facets of this sophisticated art form. Through her performance, Rajeswari aims to
share the spiritual and cultural essence of Bharatanatyam while creating an immersive
experience that resonates with diverse audiences.
