About this Event

This conference is aimed at health and social care professionals with an interest in improving the quality of patient and carer experience within the context of palliative and end of life care.

Key speakers and interactive workshops will explore particular areas of person centred culture, and there will be a focus on the importance of promoting positive workplace culture.

Workshops:Co-creating Workplace Culture Participants will have the opportunity to take part in a creative exercise and group discussion to reflect on the factors which influence workplace culture and how we can be a part of positive change

‘How can I make a Difference’ Using the Schwarz Round model to explore the impact of individual behaviour on positive/negative workplace culture

Unpacking Unconscious Bias Exploring how we express prejudice in the workplace based on our formative experiences and the potential for negative impact on our practices and colleagues

Support Act Workplace training to build resilience and compassionate self-support for the health and care workforce. . In this workshop we will share a model of workplace-based staff training that is based on Acceptance and Commitment Training. It draws from evidence-based principles that integrate acceptance, self-compassion, mindfulness and behavioural psychology to promote effective responding to workplace stressors. We will share ideas, some brief exercises and outline novel research that we are undertaking to test this intervention.
